Our
mission is to provide healthcare services that comfort and cure. We utilize
a multi-disciplinary approach that encompasses the body, mind, and spirit
in the healing of each person. Services are provided by compassionate
nurses who exhibit confidence, skill, and sensitivity to the individual
needs of our patients and their families. Because our nurses specialize
in different areas, they possess the expertise to assist you and your
physician in developing an individualized plan of care.
Our staff is encouraged to expand their knowledge and skills through
on-site training programs and attending seminars and conferences on
the latest technology and nursing practice. Our ongoing continuing education
program is available to all staff and a generous tuition reimbursement
program is available to employees who wish to pursue advanced degrees.
The Vice President of Nursing Services is responsible for the management
and supervision of the following areas. The management team is comprised
of nursing directors, managers, and educators who provide support in
the day-to-day management of the following specialties:
In
addition to the nurses in each of these patient care areas, the nursing
component of our patient care team includes case managers and social
workers who help plan for post-discharge care. Case managers are registered
nurses with an extensive clinical background. They have expertise in
communicating with physicians, patients, families, and insurance companies
to ensure a smooth transition from admission to discharge. Social workers
assist with difficult issues and decisions that sometimes must be addressed
during an episode of illness. To learn more about the role of case managers
and social workers, click

available to assist patients, families, and the patient care team with
any aspect of the Hospital stay.
In
today's environment where nurses are in critically short supply, we
are proud of our highly skilled nursing staff, many of whom began their
training at San Antonio and have gone on to receive advanced degrees
in nursing, while continuing their careers as valued members of the
San Antonio family. In response to the current nursing shortage, we
have a full-time nurse recruiter who works diligently to attract
nurses to the Hospital who share our philosophy of providing compassionate
care. Click here

Our nurse recruitment team identified that the majority of our nurses
are graduates of local nursing programs. In response, we have collaborated
with Chaffey College to expand
their nursing education program.
