Our Commitment to the Future of Healthcare
For nearly a century, San Antonio Community Hospital and its Medical
Staff have provided exceptional healthcare for our community. We are
committed to providing quality services in a caring environment that
inspires confidence. State-of-the-art equipment and facilities are just
the foundation; our dedicated, compassionate employees are the essence
of our organization.
We
support our staff with strong leaders, caring mentors, educational opportunities,
and competitive salaries and benefits that allow them to grow both individually
and as a team of healthcare professionals. If you want to enjoy the
rewards of working as a member of a closely-knit organization, where
you have a voice in the care you provide, we invite you to consider
employment opportunities with our Hospital.
Our staff is encouraged to expand their knowledge and skills through
on-site training programs and attending seminars and conferences on
the latest technology and healthcare practice. Our ongoing continuing
education program is available to all staff and a generous tuition reimbursement
program is available to employees who wish to pursue advanced degrees.
Special Opportunities
for Nurses
We offer nurses a dynamic, progressive practice environment where we
care for patients with confidence, skill, and sensitivity. Our culture
supports career development and advancement, ongoing education, and
promotion from within. We foster innovation among our nursing staff
by valuing new ideas and individual contribution. Our stability, reputation,
and resources enable nurses to achieve the
highest
levels of career growth and satisfaction.
Nurses are encouraged to enhance their knowledge and increase their
skill level, which enables them to access new opportunities in any one
of our comprehensive range of medical and related service areas. Many
of our nurses have gone on to pursue their Bachelor’s and Master’s
Degrees in Nursing with the financial support provided by the Hospital’s
tuition reimbursement program. Nursing professionals at San Antonio
Community Hospital enjoy diverse roles as leaders, mentors, teachers,
and care givers interacting as members of a collaborative team of professionals
working to attain optimal patient outcomes. They are committed to the
success of our community, as well as the success of our organization.
Above all, they are compassionate and caring, not only to their patients,
but to their coworkers as well.
Our nurse recruiter works diligently to attract nurses to the Hospital
who share our philosophy of providing compassionate care. The majority
of our nurses are graduates of local nursing programs. In response,
we collaborated with Chaffey College
to expand their nursing education program.
Nursing Student Externs
A student extern program allows nursing students at Chaffey College,
Mt. San Antonio College, Victor Valley College, and California State
University, San Bernardino to receive on-the-job training at the Hospital
under the direct supervision of experienced registered nurses. Upon
completion of their studies, many externs move on to the new nursing
graduate program explained below. To explore this opportunity, please
contact the nursing program director at your school.
New Nursing Graduates
We
provide an extended learning experience for newly graduated nurses.
Through instruction and clinical experience, the new graduate is exposed
to concepts and related experiences pertaining to nursing care and performance
standards. This program includes classroom instruction, skills laboratories,
and clinical experience in an assigned unit with a preceptor. Mentoring
relationships are fostered to assist in the transition from novice to
beginning practitioner. To learn more about opportunities in your area
