Annual, Capital and Major Gift Giving
We continually assess our community to ensure that we are meeting the
healthcare needs of our entire population. Through this process, we
identify
new programs and services, as well as refine existing programs to better
serve community needs. For example, we are currently assessing the need
to expand emergency and cardiovascular services. The tremendous growth
in our area has significantly impacted the utilization of hospital services,
and this is especially apparent in the volume of patients visiting our
Emergency Department. Cardiovascular services are at the forefront of
our planning process in response to the results of our recent community
assessment, which shows that San Bernardino County's heart disease mortality
and incidence rates are among the highest in the state.
Your donation helps to purchase the most current technology and to
hire or train employees who have mastered the skills needed to perform
the latest procedures. This enables us to provide new, updated or expanded
services. Your annual gifts, contributions to our capital campaigns,
major cash donations, and corporate grants help us to achieve our goal
of offering the best possible healthcare for our community. Capital
gifts differ from annual gifts in that they provide specific equipment
or facilities to support patient care. The need to expand the Emergency
Department, for instance, falls into the capital-giving category by
virtue of the scope and cost of the project.
